Lake Crescent is a day trip from the Dungeness Valley Inn. It lies 45 minutes west on Hwy 101, you pass through Port Angeles on the way. You can stop along the way at Granny’s Restaurant. It is a great spot for lunch and ice cream cones. Enjoy! The lake is 12-miles long with beaches at the east end, central, and west end of the lake. At the midway point of the lake is Marymere Falls which is just a short walk from the parking lot.

There are plenty of waterfalls to see up in the heights of this peninsula, but Marymere Falls ranks high among the most rewarding things to do. The trail is approximately one mile from the Storm King Ranger Station and is a great option for a quick early morning hike since it is a mildly challenging incline.

Hiking Trails

Lake Crescent is surrounded by three hiking trails that cater to different skill levels and preferences.

1. Marymere Falls Trail

This trail takes you through an enchanting old-growth forest to a picturesque waterfall, Marymere Falls. It is an easy hike, 1.8 miles round trip.

2. Spruce Railroad Trail

This trail follows the path of an abandoned railroad bed and offers breathtaking views of the lake. It is mostly flat and stretches for about 4 miles one way.

3. Pyramid Mountain Trail

For more experienced hikers, Pyramid Mountain Trail offers a challenging and rewarding trek with panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It is steep and covers about 7.2 miles round trip.
